Who can I call for information about the Washington State Energy Code (WSEC)?
How can I find someone to do a home energy audit?
Start by asking your local utility if they do audits. If the utility does not offer this service, they may be able to recommend private companies specializing in residential energy audits. You may also check the RESNET Certified Rater Directory for raters/auditors in your area. There are also a few do-it-yourself tools that you can use:
Who can help pay my energy bills?
Contact your local electric or gas utility and ask if they offer assistance or can refer you to an organization or agency that may be able to help. Another resource is the federal Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP) that provides funds to states to provide assistance.
Who can I call locally for information on reducing my energy bills?
- Your utility company: call the customer service phone number on your bill.
- Contact your state energy office.
- Find out if you are eligible for low income weatherization assistance. Go to the federal Weatherization Assistance website. The State Contacts page has phone numbers and addresses for each state's weatherization office.

Where can I find the status of Washington state energy legislation?
We maintain a list of energy bills and their statuses during legislative sessions: Washington State Energy Bill Tracking.
