Training

Through collaboration with utilities and other resource providers in the region, such as the Industrial Efficiency Alliance, the WSU Energy program coordinates a variety of industrial end-user efficiency trainings in Washington State and throughout the Northwest. The trainings focus on industrial system efficiency and are geared toward those involved in system or plant operations, engineering or management of industrial systems.

Topics include:

  • compressed air systems
  • fan systems
  • lighting
  • motor systems
  • process heating
  • pump systems
  • refrigeration
  • steam systems

The trainings help participants identify opportunities to improve plant energy efficiency, which can lead to significant cost savings. For information on industrial trainings in the region, including those sponsored by WSU, visit the NW Regional Training Calendar. Regional and national training information on a variety of topics can be found on the EnergyIdeas Clearinghouse website and on U.S Department of Energy's Industrial Technologies Program Training Calendar.

Participants may qualify for technical support through the WSU Energy Program. Follow-up may include one-on-one consultations with engineers and other energy specialists, materials from our full-service energy library, or help with a demonstration project.

The Northwest is rich in industrial technical resources, and in addition to WSU assistance, participants may qualify for support from other regional entities. Contact the Energy Program for help determining the right course of action for you.
