Technical assistance

Plants in Washington State and throughout the Northwest region may qualify for technical and project support through the WSU Energy Program. In addition to technical engineering assistance through the Energy Program, plant personnel and their resource providers may also access engineering support and a variety of other resources through the EnergyIdeas Clearinghouse and the EERE Information Center.

  • The EnergyIdeas Clearinghouse provides information to Pacific Northwest business, industry, government and utilities through a call center and website managed by the Washington State University Extension Energy Program with funding from the Northwest Energy Efficiency Alliance. Call 1-800-872-3568 or visit EnergyIdeas.org.

  • The EERE Information Center answers questions on products, services and 11 technology programs affiliated with the U.S. Department of Energy's Office of Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy. Callers are referred to appropriate resources and experts. Call 1-877-337-3463 or visit the website.

The WSU Energy Library also provides assistance by identifying loan and rebate opportunities, and other incentives available to industrial plants throughout the Northwest region.

Assessments

The WSU Energy program offers a variety of in-plant services ranging from an informal walk-through to identify easy opportunities, to an in-depth plant assessment focused on energy intensive systems such as steam, process heating, pumps, fans, motors, or compressed air. You may also qualify for an audit through a regional Industrial Assessment Center. Call the Energy Program for help identifying the best fit for your plant.

Combined Heat and Power

Specialists in combined heat and power (CHP) are also available to provide technical assistance, and advice on navigating regulatory hurdles to increase fuel flexibility.
