Process Heating Assessment Training Workshop

July 16, 2008 at Puget Sound Energy, Bellevue, Washington

Co-sponsored by Puget Sound Energy, Snohomish County PUD, U.S. Department of Energy, Industrial Heating Equipment Association, the Industrial Efficiency Alliance, Bonneville Power Administration, Northwest Food Processors Association and the Washington State University Energy Program.

This workshop includes an introduction to process heating and process heating equipment such as furnaces, ovens, dryers, heaters, kilns, etc., used by the industry. It includes discussion of combustion and other heating methods, heat transfer in furnaces, heat containment, waste heat recovery, commonly used process heating controls, and emission reduction related to process heating. Students will also learn how to use the Process Heating Assessment and Survey Tool (PHAST). PHAST can survey furnaces, identify major energy using equipment, prioritize improvement opportunities, and assess available methods that can be used to reduce energy consumption in an industrial plant. Attend this workshop if you are a process engineer, plant operator, maintenance engineer, process heating equipment designer, plant or corporate energy coordinator, or consulting engineer.

Seating is limited, so sign up now and learn how you can save energy and money at your plant. For more information, contact Tamara Parrish at parrisht@energy.wsu.edu

This 1-day training is $99, and includes training materials and breakfast and lunch. CEU credits are available for those needing professional development hours. Registration begins at 8:00 am. The training starts at 8:30 am and finishes around 4 pm.
