Distribution System Efficiency: Voltage Optimization Workshops
The Bonneville Power Administration is sponsoring educational and training workshops for public and investor-owned utilities designed to facilitate a common understanding of voltage optimization principles. Voltage optimization improves power factor, and reduces demand, reactive peaks, and line losses. Projects that reduce line losses may qualify for financial reimbursement from BPA.
Management, operational and energy efficiency staff of both public and investor-owned utilities are invited to participate. In addition, utilities may invite their distribution system consultant to join them in attending a workshop; however, non-utility staff may not attend without their sponsoring utility.
Seven workshops are currently scheduled throughout the Northwest at the following locations:
- Cowlitz PUD, Longview, WA July 15-16
